I had my first experience with computer graphics in 1984 while employed as an Engineer Associate with General Dynamics. I was on 4 year assignment located on a small island off the southern coast of California. San Nicolas Island, a U.S. Military site. This job required up to 4 continuous weeks on the island, before returning to the mainland for a break, so there was a lot of time available to discover the newly emerging world of computer graphics on the Apple Macintosh platform. Needless to say, I embraced the Macintosh computer in 1984, as a dynamic design tool in creating my designs. When I completed this assignment and returned home to North Carolina, I was able to utilize my new found computer graphic skills in my job. Since retiring from General Dynamics in 2001, I have enjoyed studying jewelry fabrication, lost wax casting, and precious metal clay. I then began to teach myself precious metal wire jewelry sculpture and continue to thoroughly enjoying expanding my abilities in wire sculpture. I specialize in “one of a kind art glass pendants” which are made from hand blown glass, then sculpted free form with 14/20K gold filled, or sterling silver wire to accentuate the natural flow of the glass shape. Each pendant is a unique work of art. My work has been exhibited at The Sawtooth Center for Visual Art - Winston-Salem, NC, and various artist events around the area.
